Nurture the Idea Generation Process

One of the transformative moments in my leadership journey occurred the day I realized that when it comes to getting ideas from my team, my responses either encourage or discourage them. Simple right? I know, but it is from failure that I have learned my most valuable lessons. In this case, after repeatedly failing to get a culture of innovation (the result I desired), I came to recognize my words have weight, and I should be careful how I use them.
